About

Hi. I'm Lindsey Green and this is my home on the web. It is a place for the things that interest me and which I hope may interest you too. Odds and sods I spot kicking around the interweb superhighway - but also some of my own thoughts on playful culture, collaboration, mobile experiences and post-digital design. Doesn't that all sound very grand.

The things I do

I work as a consultant to museums and organisations who would like to work with museums. In the past few years, I've been surprised and excited to with wonderful organisations such as Tate, Historic Royal Palaces and English Heritage to develop projects using handhelds and other new/emerging/magic technologies.

I'm currently carrying out research on smartphone use in museums and working towards a conference on play in museums.

In the past I have worked for Antenna Audio as the Head of Key Accounts. I've also delivered digital learning game workshops for Creative Partnerships as Green Spaghetti and fiddled around in the world of online learning too.

I write for Museum Insider writing articles on new museums trends and spotting opportunities within the industry.

Contact

If you liked to drop me a line I can be contacted at lindsey [at] this domain. I can also be found on twitter and linkedin

Talking in public places

I have been known to stand up straight and talk clearly at these conferences:
Museums Association 2008 Liverpool - Your Guide to Digital and Social Media
American Association of Museums 2008 - User-Generated Content empowering visitors to create their own cultural experiences
Mobile User Experience 09 - Designing, testing and piloting the multi-platform museum experience.

Stuff I like

Cake and cups of tea, gaming, drawing, knitting, Monocle magazine, swimming in the sea, cards, films, short stories, the muppets, comedy gigs, industrial furniture, johnny morris and the theatre, eating and drinking stuff that's bad for me.

I'm also in the process of becoming a master baker, but so far I can muster a half decent french baguette and an even worse accent, so for now, we'll call that a work in progress.

Please note: At the moment, I'm wrestling with wordpress templates and so the birds at the top, as lovely as they are, are going to be caught and released back into the wild as soon as I can work out how!

  • Dear Lindsey,
Where have you been all my life?

For the last 2 and half years I been trying to get Yorkshire museums to use technology in interesting ways and failing. My latest idea is to digitally project period costumes from the Leeds collection onto the view public using ARG for a exhibition called heros and heroines. If you like the sound of that I have plenty more in the can!

    My biggest problem has been
    1. Finding someone who talks museums speak and techie speak
    2. Finding that little extra funding to make these things happen
